We have seen the biggest fights in sports history, from bench-clearing brawls to malice at the palace! It's now time to take a look at the best managers in sports history.
Managers are the bosses of their teams, they are the annoying parents on the sideline at your game. They feel strongly about their rivals and want to win equally as much as their team, sometimes this leads to bust-ups and disagreements between team managers and sometimes with the opposing players.
We have gathered the most entertaining and biggest sports brawls between coaches of all time, so sit back and enjoy!
Conte vs Tuchel
After an intense game, finalising with a draw between Chelsea and Tottenham in the Premier League, the managers clashed throughout but things got even more heated at the end of the match.
The managers had a couple of disagreements during the game, causing a scene both times, and having to be pulled back by their teams. Conte had celebrated in front of the Chelsea dugout, which upset Tuchel, leading to one of the brawls.
When the game had ended, they went in for the custom manager handshake, but with a tight grip, Tuchel pulled Conte back and squared up to him, supposedly because Conte did not look him in the eyes. Things escalated quickly but both teams ran over to split them up, and both received a red card for doing so.
Both managers were both later charged with misconduct, Tuchel was fined £35,000 and given a 1-game touchline ban for causing a non-justifiable stir. Conte was fined £15,000 but avoided a touchline ban.
Joe Judge vs Marc Colombo
This NFL manager brawl was an in-house mishap, the New York Giants head coach, Joe Judge, and offensive line coach, Marc Colombo got into a fistfight 2 years ago, resulting in Colombo being fired and replaced instantly.
Unfortunately, there is no video for this one, but we will do our best to explain what happened.
Midway through the 2020 NFL season, punches were thrown between the two as Colombo got the “better” of Judge, according to Jason McIntrye of Fox Sports. Colombo was immediately replaced by Dave DeGulielmo.
It was Colombo’s first year with the team, and things started to heat up when his replacement DeGulielmo was hired as a consultant to him as a veteran offensive line coach. He was not a fan of this decision, which led to a bust-up between the head coach and the offensive coach.
Judge stated,
I'll just say about the entire situation, I made this clear from day one, I'm always going to make every decision that I see is best for the team… This decision was no different. Look, there's been a lot of information out there, a lot of misinformation. A lot of people have done a lot of digging trying to figure out the details of the situation. I'm not going to rehash any of that.
So, unfortunately, we can’t get the full details, let us know on Twitter if you have any footage or more information @bestsports_odds
Patrick Roy vs Bruce Boudreau
After the final whistle at a Colorado Avalanche vs Anaheim Ducks, the two head coaches got it to a screaming match that escalated quickly during the NHL game.
It all stemmed from a fight between two players after the Avalanche player pushed a Duck. The pair were separated but Patrick Roy was not having any of it when he started shouting at the Ducks players. This upset Bruce Boudreau, leading him to start edging toward the Avalanche dugout. Roy decided to ‘bring the house down’, as the commentators said, by pushing the separator towards Boudreau with the Cameraman getting the raft of it all.
Eventually, the two were separated, but who knows what would’ve happened if the separator wasn't there.
A.J Hinch vs Jeff Bannister
During a rival match between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, tensions were high, as always between the two teams.
While the Rangers were batting, Rougned Odor and Hank Conger exchanged words which led to a heated discussion and the pair squaring up with each other. The benches then cleared with players trying to split each other up but then ending up getting involved themselves!
The managers then head over and collide with each other, they had to be pulled apart by the referee as the two started to get pretty handsy. Bannister was pulled away and things started to calm down.
Jose Mourinho vs Tito Vilanova
Tensions are always likely to be high between 2 of the best teams in the world, and this time round things were fiery between the teams and their coaches.
The brawl was started by a particularly vicious and unnecessary foul by Madrid's Marcelo on Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas, which occurred immediately after Lionel Messi scored the game-winning goal with a spectacular volley.
The benches quickly emptied and with everyone huddled together, Mourinho took his chance to sneakily poke Barceonlas assistant coach Tito Vilanova in the eye.
